Frequently Asked Questions

Are repairs visible?
No.  Polished or scratch repaired surfaces show no signs of polishing, distortion or haze and leave the surface looking like new.

Does the glass need to be removed to be repaired?
No.  All repairs are carried out onsite and in-situ.

Will this process weaken the glass?
No.  The scratch has already damaged the unit.  Although polishing does no strengthen the glass, by removing the scratch we remove the strain on the pane, re-creating a structurally sound piece of glass.

Can you repair tinted glass?
Yes. As tints are manufactured into and throughout the glass, polishing does not effect the glass in any way.

Can you repair toughened glass
Yes.  Our systems and techniques work extremely well on toughened or tempered glass due to its density.  The same is true for laminated, plate, float, safety and mirrored glass.

How does repairing scratch damage effect the environment?
Repairing scratch damage not only saves you time and money, it benefits the environment too.  The UK Glass Manufacturing industry (one of the most environmentally conscious in the world today) produces an average of 7671 tons of glass every day in the UK.  Each ton of glass manufactured produces 1.65 tons of  CO2.  That = 12,657.5 tons of CO2 produced every day.

By repairing instead of replacing, you can reduce the amount of glass manufactured and in turn, reduce the amount of CO2 the manufacturing glass produces.
